The title may be misleading; this is foremost a book about learning chess, not winning. As a chess manual for beginners it undoubtly stands out for the beautiful production. This is a large size book with a hardcover and plenty of full color pictures.
John Saunders has devoted 172 pages to learning chess and the remaining 84 to topics like the history of chess, chess prodigies, computers in chess and others. "A complete illustrated guide to the game", as the publisher itself says about the book.
