In this luxuriously produced book, David DeLucia, arguably the most important chess collector in the world (books, manuscripts, ephemera) shares his experience as a chess collector (from 1985 to this day).
The book will be published in a very limited edition, starting with 50 copies. Of these 50 copies, 40 have already been sold, the final 10 are exclusively sold by New In Chess. For the moment there are no plans to print additional copies.

For those collectors who already own In Memoriam, the 2-volume overview of David DeLucia’s chess collection (sold out), it should be noted that most of the illustrations in My Years as a Chess Collector, have already been published in In Memoriam. The heart (and importance of) of My Years as a Chess Collector are Mr DeLucia’s thoughts about collecting and his freely sharing his experiences.
A 474-page hardback edition, printed on 100# gloss with a double stitched binding, that includes a coloured photo gallery containing many of the collection’s best items and pictures of the library.
The book is arranged in four parts:
1. Putting the collection together (1985 – present), including articles written about it by New In Chess and Karl as well as an English translation of Mr. Negele’s article in Schach;
2. Random thoughts about collecting;
3. Book highlights, in chronological order and;
4. Autograph and ephemera highlights, in alphabetical order.

A 30-page photo gallery at the end of the book shows photos of the library and certain individual shelves within the library that showcase some of the special items.
