I just subscribed to your Magazine. What is the first issue that I will receive ?
If you live in North America you will start with the next available issue. Everywhere else you will start with the current issue. If you would prefer to start your subscription with another issue please send an email to nic@newinchess.com.

And what about my Yearbook subscription: which issue will be my first?
A Yearbook subscription always starts with the current issue, unless you indicate otherwise.

I recently moved to a new address. What should I do ?
If you are a Magazine or Yearbook subscriber, you can find it in the 'task list' on the header of every page the option change my postal adress, or click here.

With future orders you can delete your old address in the Check Out procedure and add your new address.

I used to be a Magazine subscriber. Can I make use of the Introduction Subscription offer ?
Only if you have been a non-subscriber for at least 18 months.

I'm interested in your Magazine and/or Yearbook ? Is it possible to see a sample issue ?
Yes it is, we have some sample Magazine articles and Yearbook surveys available in Adobe PDF format. Click here for the Magazine articles and here for the Yearbook surveys.

I've forgotten my password, what to do ?
Click 'Lost your password?' at the bottom of the 'Sign In' page. After you enter your email address, you will receive a new password in an email sent to your email address. If you accidentally hit the 'Send password' button more than once, you will receive more than one new password. Always use the last password sent to you!

You can always change your password to a password of your own choosing at the My Account section.

I'm a longtime customer of New In Chess, but I have never ordered online. Is there already a login and password for me ?
No, if this is the first time you want to sign in, you will have to create a new account. You can do this at the 'Sign In' page. Check the 'No, I'm a new online customer' option and click 'Sign In'. You'll only need to enter your email address and a password of your choosing and the account is created.

I just placed an order, but I made a mistake. What can I do ?
Just send an email to nic@newinchess.com and explain your problem.

Is there a Windows version of NICBase available ?
No, we have launched the Internet version NICBase Online. We will continue to add new features to this online version and no Windows version is expected in the near future.

In what currency do I pay?
Customers in ALL countries are are invoiced and charged in Euro E, except USA & Canada (US$), and UK (L). The webshop automatically selects the currency according to your address.

What format are the books?
Ebooks available for purchase from our website are available in Chessbase format and pgn format

Where can I download a Chessbase reader if I do not own one?
Chessbase Reader is available as a free download from the ChessBase website:

How do I play the pgn versions?
The pgn versions are for playing on your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch using our Chess Viewer app. Not all our ebooks have been converted in pgn format. Please see the Chess Viewer support page for full details:

How do I install my eBook?
There are four ways to install and run your eBook

   1. With the database program ChessBase (version 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 or 9.0)
   2. With the program ChessBase Reader (available as a free download from ChessBase.com - see above)
   3. With popular chess-playing programs such as Fritz, Shredder and Junior.
   4. With the Chess Viewer if you have a pgn version

What are the System requirements?
Pentium, Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP; 16MB RAM, CD-drive for chesssbase version; iPad, iPhone, iPod touch for pgn version

What happens if I lose my ebook?
You have 28 days from date of purchase to request a replacement. After that time you will have to re-order.

Is copying the ebook illegal?
Yes! When you purchase an ebook it is for your use only. You do not have permission to copy it and distribute it. This is illegal and you are breaking the law
