About Anish Giri
Anish Giri is contributing editor to New In Chess Magazine. Born in Russia and a Dutch citizen since 2009, Anish became a grandmaster at the tender age of 14 years, 7 months and 2 days. He is a five-time Dutch Champion and a three-time Candidate for the World Championship. In 2023 he won the Tata Steel Tournament in Wijk aan Zee. His peak rating was 2802.8 in September 2015, his peak ranking was 3rd in the world in January 2016.
